Life at Mount School is about far more than lessons. We believe that every day should provide opportunities for learners to feel safe, develop meaningful relationships, discover new interests and experience success. Our nurturing environment encourages pupils to grow in confidence, become active members of the school community and develop the skills they need for life beyond education.

Every school day is carefully planned to provide structure, consistency and a balance of academic learning, therapeutic support and enrichment. Alongside high-quality teaching, pupils benefit from opportunities to develop their wellbeing, creativity, communication, independence and resilience through a wide range of experiences both inside and outside the classroom.

Learning extends beyond traditional subjects through educational visits, residential experiences, outdoor learning, Forest School, community projects, enterprise activities, sporting opportunities and creative arts. These experiences allow pupils to apply their learning in meaningful contexts while developing teamwork, leadership, problem-solving and confidence.

Wellbeing remains central to school life. Pupils have access to therapeutic support, emotional wellbeing programmes, sensory regulation opportunities and positive relationships with trusted adults who know them well. Every learner is encouraged to develop self-confidence, celebrate their achievements and become an active participant within the school community.

Our enrichment programme offers opportunities for pupils to explore new interests, develop talents and experience activities that may not otherwise be available to them. Whether taking part in music, sport, outdoor education, enterprise, creative arts or community engagement, learners are encouraged to challenge themselves, discover their strengths and build lasting memories.

Pupil voice is valued throughout the school. Learners are encouraged to contribute to decision-making, participate in leadership opportunities, support charitable projects and help shape the development of the school community. By listening to our pupils and encouraging them to take responsibility, we help develop confident, respectful and responsible young people.
