At Mount School, education and wellbeing work hand in hand. We recognise that some learners require additional specialist support to overcome barriers to learning, communication, emotional wellbeing and independence. Our clinical provision is designed to complement our therapeutic approach, ensuring that every learner receives the right support at the right time.
Working collaboratively with families, local authorities and external agencies, we coordinate specialist services to create a holistic understanding of each learner's strengths and needs. Clinical advice informs personalised learning programmes, therapeutic interventions and individual support strategies, helping every pupil to access education successfully.
Depending on individual need, pupils may access support from a range of professionals including Educational Psychologists, Occupational Therapists, Speech and Language Therapists, Clinical Psychologists, counsellors and other specialist practitioners. Assessments, observations, consultation and direct intervention may all form part of a learner's personalised support package.
Our multidisciplinary approach ensures that education, therapy and wellbeing are fully integrated. Regular communication between teaching staff, therapists, families and external professionals enables us to monitor progress, review strategies and adapt support as pupils develop.
Clinical support may include assessments, individual therapy, group interventions, sensory integration programmes, communication support, emotional wellbeing strategies, behaviour consultation, staff training and guidance for families. Where appropriate, we also contribute to Individual Development Plans (IDPs), Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs), annual reviews and multi-agency meetings.
By bringing education and clinical expertise together, we create a joined-up approach that enables pupils to feel safe, develop confidence, overcome barriers and achieve their full potential both in school and beyond.
